Extruded Corn Stick Line - Rotary Head Extruder
Extruded Corn Stick production line produces one of the most popular snack food products in the world - the fried corn curl. Mostly famous for brands of Fried corn curl are Cheetos, Nik Naks, Kurkure etc. This extruded corn snack is extruded in the form of random collets and then processed through continuous snack fryer, seasoning equipment, finally packed by Automatic Packaging Machine.
Extruded Fried Corn Snack Production is manufactured in India by Grace Food Processing & Packaging Machinery®. These snacks are also known by the name Snack Random Collets Production Lines and Cheetos Production line around the world. Process is to mix the corn meal and other ingredients in the Raw Material Corn Meal Mixer. After mixing corn meal is extruded at high temperature to produce stick shaped collets or Raw Kurkure stick. These random collections are passed through a continuous Snack Food Fryer. After cooking in Fryer it went to the flavouring section for Seasoning and coating process. Various types of seasoning are used all over the world, some snack manufacturers like to have dry powder dosing dust-on over the snack. Some want to prepare the slurry of oil and seasoning powder mixed together to spray over the snack. After the flavouring process the snack is ready to pack in flexible packaging film with the automatic packaging machine.

For mix and to moisturize the raw materials, there are two different models: the vertical grits mixer and the horizontal ribbon mixer. In vertical Raw materials is feed from floor level and a screw bring the raw materials into the mixer. Water is added and the mix is prepared. Together with the screw feeder (transport to extruder) and extruder hopper it forms one buffer of raw materials.
Rotary Head Extruder
Gelatinization of moisturized starchy ingredients takes place inside a concentric cavity between two brass plates, one rotary with 3 blades (fingers) plus grooves, and the other one with grooves only. The action of these blades on the rotating head creates the necessary condition of pressure and heat to achieve gelatinization of the raw materials. Expansion and forming of the product occurs in a narrow gap between the two plates. Blades affixed to a circular knife support ring mounted on the outer edge of the rotor cuts to the desired size. Moisture, feed screw speed and type of brass used for the extruder heads control the expansion and texture of the product.
Used to remove the small sizes extruded particle before the frying option, so that oil do not get more fines.
Specially designed frying system with wire-mesh belt arranging with precise oil heating control and dwell time control get the optimum frying.
Continuous Oil Filter
While continuous frying operation the oil gets fines released from the product, which degrades the oil quality, in-order to remove those fines we use highly effective oil filtration system designed. More than 50 times the full volume of oil is passed through the filter in each hour of production.
Removes the excess superficial oil from the product, to get the desired level of oil in the product.
Coating is done by slurry: the mix of oil and flavour powder. For this purpose the slurry mixer and spraying attachments .
Snacks need a coating to become attractive, this is done in a coating drum immediately after frying and de-oiling. The coating drum comes in various sizes and has on the inside a self-cleaning profile. To ensure uniform residence time, strips are mounted in the drum. The rotation speed of drum are variable.
